I totally stole this from a few blogs I have seen around, but I will try to do a weekly update. And by try....well as long as I remember to do so!
How far along? 18 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 6 lbs since the start
Stretch marks? Nothing yet... but I know they are a comin'
Sleep: I have been sleeping better now then before I wasn't, but ya I am sure that will come to an end as well.
Best moment this week: Listeing to the baby's heartbeat at the doc's office.
Movement: Same flips and flutters and fish like movement.
Food cravings: Any carbs will do, I love bagels. And Baxters craving icecream....does that count?
Gender: Will hopefully find out next week!
Belly Button in or out? In. I don't think mine is going anywhere yet.
What I miss: Being able to do a lot of things myself, like lifting at work. I hate asking other people for help.
What I am looking forward to: A really big margarita....or beer.
Weekly Wisdom: Pregnancy and humidity don't mix. I sweat 10 times more since being pregnant and if you know how much I sweat before you can just imagine what I am like now.
Names we are loving: We are waiting to find out the gender before jumping into the name game.
Milestones: Listening to the heartbeat, feeling the baby. Everyday is a milestone to me.

I have to go to class?
So we went to our first 'early' prenatal class this week. There is a set of three classes offered by the women's health clinics for women who are earlier than 20 weeks pregnant. They are about an hour and a half long and we get to learn about the fetal development each week, breastfeeding, exercises to do to get us prepared for labour, and also nutrition.
Bax and I went to the first one and it was quite informative. I thought I had googled enough things, and looked enough things up that they would be borning classes but they were great! My favorite thing so far has been to be able to speak with other women and couples who are due around the same time as us. There was even a lady there who is due the same day as me. So it was nice to be able to talk about our experiences so far.
The instructor asked who has been sick so far, and I thought they were going to kill me when I said I have not been sick throughout this pregnancy. I seen the hate in their eyes...lol.
Anyways next week we have a physiotheripist coming in to teach us some exercises and stretches to help us prepare for labour and help us throughout the pregnancy.
We are headed out for a camping trip this weekend, supposed to be nice and hot here this weekend so hoping to get in the water for a bit somewhere to cool off. We are going camping with some close friends and their 8 month old.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Movement?
I am not going to lie, aside from the tight fitting clothing, I don't feel pregnant. Well and also the fact I am starving at all times.
So last week when I felt something in my stomach I didn't even notice it, felt like gas bubbles or something like that. Until I was reading about the feeling of the first baby flutters. And I guess I have been feeling movement. This weekend I could actually feel it and know exactly what it was. The baby is moving and I can feel it!
I know it is the baby because since I have a doppler at home, I know exactly where the little one is in my belly, and that's where I have been feeling flutters. Yesterday I felt a few bigger ones, and can't wait for them to get even bigger. What an amazing feeling.

Intelligender...lets give it a try
My parents were in Florida on vacation and my mother brought back something she found at Walgreen's, Intelligender. Its a urine test that is supposed to predict the sex of your baby. I said sure I will give it a try, I know its just for fun, and we weren't going to run out and paint the nursery. It said you had to be 10 weeks or further along to try, I was 14 weeks so the next morning we tried it out. Followed the directions exactly, and got a boy result. It was clearly the boy result, didn't even resemble the girl color. They say the girl result is an orangey/yellow or brown. The boy is blue/green.
I guess we will find out in two weeks!

What do you think?

May as well blog about it!

So here we are married and pregnant. My husband (Baxter) and I (Carla) are expecting our first child in December. Our due date is December 18, 2010. We have been married since August 2009 and well we have been together forever.... (well 8 years...lol).
We are absolutely ecstatic, and cannot wait for this baby to get here. Thought I would give some updates along the way of Baby Boyd. So far we have had one ultrasound, it was a dating ultrasound and we were 11 weeks and 3 days. The pic is on the top of this post. What an amazing feeling to see our baby! And made it feel so real.
We got our letter for our 18 week ultrasound, and this will be on July 21. So another 18 days. We have decided that we do want to find out the sex of the baby so hope that we can on the 21st.
We have a doppler at home with us, which is amazing. Its great to listen to the baby's heartbeat when we go to bed. The heartbeat last night was at 135 bpm. And has been under 150 each time we have heard it, even at the doctors office.
Today we are at 16 weeks. Can't believe we are here already. I haven't been sick at all so I haven't really felt pregnant until this week. I have been tired and that's about it. So I am very thankful for that. This week I have felt a few flutters and its almost like I have popcorn popping in my belly. I am pretty sure its the baby because its the exact location of the baby when we find the hb with the doppler. Its nice!
So that's it for now, I will post lots of updates along the way!!
